USC 4 @ Cal 3 (OT)  -  Saturday, January 20, 2007
Friday: Cal dominated the first 5 minutes of the game, USC dominated the next 55 minutes. The 1st period ended 2-1. The 2nd period ended 8-1. The 3rd period ended 12-1, with a lot of physical play, including a DQ penalty being assessed Ryan Farias of the Trojans.
Saturday: USC went to the movies in the afternoon to relax before going to the arena to relax during another blow-out victory. Except, no one told Cal the game was supposed to be a blow-out. The 1st period ended with USC leading just 1-0. The 2nd period ended with USC leading just 2-0. In the 3rd period, Cal scored 3 unanswered goals to take the lead and to take their home-rink fans into a frenzy, anticipating a big upset. With 2:32 remaining in regulation, Ryan Seals scored a power-play goal for USC to send the game into overtime. Midway into the 5-minute sudden-death overtime, the Trojan's Tyler McLinn put the puck past Cal goalie Brian Yates to win the game for USC.

Stanford at UCLA

Stanford 4 @ UCLA 5 (OT) - Friday, January 19, 2007
Stanford 3 @ UCLA 7 - Saturday, January 20, 2007
Friday: Despite playing from behind all game, UCLA battled back from a 4-2 third period deficit to tie Stanford, 4-4 on Jeff Sanka's goal with 2:27 remaining in regulation. This forced the first OT game in the PAC-8 this season. After killing a penalty in overtime, the Bruins capitalized on their own power play when Aaron Munoz scored his second goal of the game with 12 seconds left in OT to win, 5-4. Taku Ide scored two goals for the Cardinal, and Martin Galstyan had three assists for UCLA.
Saturday: An early 1st period goal for UCLA kept this game at 1-0 until the end of the 1st period, when the Bruins scored twice in the last 30 seconds, taking a 3-0 into the first intermission. Three more unanswered UCLA goals in the 2nd period, made the score 6-0 at the end of the 2nd period - a different game than Friday. But, the 3rd period saw Stanford mount a big comeback. The Cardinal finally got the puck past Adam Kubalski, getting three unanswered goals. With the gap now closed to 6-3, and with momentum on Stanford's side, UCLA got a rink-long pass from Scott Freschet to score and seal the victory, 7-3.

Saturday: More of the same in Saturday's game. Good performance by the Washington goaltender, getting more than 50 saves. The victory sealed Oregon's lock on 2nd place in the PAC-8 standings, and a trip to the Championship Tournament in Los Angeles, February 9 and 10.

This was the season opener for WSU, and the PAC-8 opener for both teams.

largest home crowd in years. WSU jumped to an early 1-0 scoring a shorthanded
goal in the first period.

USC tied the game, but WSU answered by scoring a goal late in the first. The
first period ended with WSU leading 2-1. WSU scored the first goal in the second
period, giving them a 3-1 lead over the defending PAC-8 champs. Then USC scored
3 goals to finish the second period, leading 4-3. The third period was all USC.
